The chair of higher mathematics and mathematical physics was founded in September 1961 as a general chair to provide mathematical courses at the department of physics.

The chair’s academic staff is 20 lecturers and laboratory assistant, including 2 professors and 11 associate professors

- Basics of vector and tensor analysis
- Differential and integral equations
- Methods of mathematical physics
