The education of students is focused on training specialists for institutes and companies in the scientific industry, in which studies of physical laws and principles are organized for the subsequent development and creation of new technologies and objects on their basis. In the learning process, the emphasis is on the study of the fundamental laws of all modern areas of physics, including cosmology and astrophysics. Students get acquainted with modern research methods, conduct their own scientific experimental and theoretical research.
The training of specialists in this specialty is dictated by the intensive development of modern nanotechnologies, the methods and approaches in which differ significantly from those previously known. Students study modern methods of synthesis of nanostructures, including laser and plasma technologies, methods of their research and practical application. Specialists are in demand in companies involved in the implementation of such technologies in medicine (production of modern medicines and diagnostic drugs), solar energy (active energy converters), nanoelectronics (development of nanosensors and nanotransducers).
The training of specialists is focused on the nuclear power industry, in particular for the needs of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, as well as related and service companies. Students deeply study the structure and functioning of nuclear reactors, the interaction of ionizing radiation with matter, the principles of radiation protection. Students are also actively involved in research work on the introduction of new nuclear technologies at industrial facilities in the form of modern equipment being developed, radiation detectors, and monitoring the state of the irradiated substance. Students undergo practical training at foreign universities.
The education of students includes a combination of analysis and study of basic physical processes and methods of their computer modeling. Students deeply study programming languages of various levels, operation of operating systems, methods of automating production processes. Students solve real physical problems that arise in many production processes, make predictions about the feasibility of introducing technologies into production. The trained specialists are competitive in the information technology market due to the combination of a wide range of practical skills in solving problems and a high level of proficiency in modern technologies.
Students are trained of the basics of research work with an applied focus related to the introduction of scientific developments into production, study in depth the English language and the basics of the Chinese language, practice in Belarusian-Chinese companies, take part in summer and winter schools in China and Belarus. Graduates receive two diplomas from leading universities - Belarusian State University and Dalian Polytechnic University.
